  1. Visitor Appreciation Day at Stonefield

    Jun 2, 2013   10 am–5 pm Visit Stonefield on this Sunday and enjoy deep discounts on the regular admission. It's our way of showing our appreciation for our past visitors and of welcoming new visitors to the site. This special offer coincides with statewide free admission to state parks, including Nelson Dewey State Park directly across Highway VV from Stonefield.

  2. Great River Road Festival

    Jun 15, 2013   10 am–5 pm In 1938 President Franklin D. Roosevelt established the Great River Road along the Mississippi River. The route follows the river for nearly 3,000 miles through 10 states. In 2012 The Great River Road in Wisconsin was voted the "Prettiest Drive" in America by the readers of the Huffington Post. Come celebrate the Great River Road's 75th Anniversary at Stonefield, one of the Great River Road Interpretive Centers. The historic site has planned a variety of river-related activities to celebrate the anniversary including, music, art, literature, food, transportation activities and more.

  3. Railroad Days

    Aug 17, 2013 - Aug 18, 2013   10 am–5 pm All aboard for a trip back in time to Stonefield and an era when trains provided the main source of transportation for both people and goods. The day will feature activities and displays related to railroading. Visit the Stonefield depot, hop up into the Stonefield caboose, view model railroading trains and stop by the "End of the Line" hobo camp, where samples of mulligan stew will be available.

  4. Horse-Drawn Days at Stonefield

    Sep 21, 2013   10 am–5 pm Step back to a time, before steam engines or tractors arrived on the farm, when horses did all work. Farmers used horses to plow the fields in the spring, harvest the crop in the fall, haul goods to town and transport people. Horse-Drawn Days will help you relive this way of life through a variety of activities throughout the day. Popular and prolific Wisconsin Historical Society Press author Jerry Apps will discuss and sign copies of his popular book, 'Horse-Drawn Days: A Century of Farming with Horses' from noon to 2 pm.
